But that issue s iconic cover wasn t drawn by interior artist Steve Ditko Jack Kirby provided the pencils while Ditko did the inks. What fewer people know is that Ditko did create a cover for Amazing Fantasy , and now it s finally seeing the light of day as the cover for Amazing Spider-Man 00. It is really quite the story, that Steve Ditko, the co-creator of Spider-Man with Stan Lee , whose four year run is considered legend, who it has been said defined every aspect of the character for decades to come, created a cover for Amazing Fantasy that initially went unused nbsp As the story goes, Ditko s cover wasn t deemed iconic enough and they handed it to Jack Kirby with the instructions to come up with another version that was more heroic. nbsp And in the end it was Kirby s cover that won out.
